We use top of the line batteries. They are rechargeable lithium-ion and they all have protection circuits on them. Meaning that you can plug your hoop into the charger before its fully dead or your can pull it off the charger before a full charge. You can also let the hoop run completely dead or leave it on the charger for way too long. It won’t hurt the batteries!
*Other* LED hoops on the market do not have this feature and you have to watch the hoops battery life to make sure you don’t hurt the batteries. This is nerve wracking and can result in weak batteries. Know what you are getting yourself into.
We also balance the batteries internally. We have people who swear by Mad’s work, saying that his hoops are the most balanced LED hoops they have ever spun. Everything is meticulously measured out next to perfection.
*Other* LED hoops on the market are counter weighted with a weight, this just adds unneeded weight to the hoop. There are also other LED hoops on the market that use only one battery in the hoop and it is installed into a larger piece of tubing than the rest of your hoop. So while you are spinning the LED hoop there is a section of 7/8” tubing and the rest is 3/4″ and your hand is constantly hitting the larger piece. Again, know what you are getting yourself into.
Since our batteries are internal and never have to be removed you don’t have to worry about shelling out a bunch of cash to replace batteries. You also don’t have to worry about losing rechargeable ones that have to be removed. Batteries are also very bad on the environment, so using the minimum amount and not purchasing more over an LED hoops life is a good thing. :)
*Other* lower cost LED hoops are set up to where you have to remove the battery by pulling the tubing apart. What this will inevitably do is stretch your tubing, connection points, and internal pieces over time. Which will result in the battery not being able to meet the point it needs to turn on the hoop.
We aim to offer the most LED options around. Have you seen an LED bulb on another site that we do not have? Just tell us. We can most likely get it within moments of you asking. :)
We also only order the brightest solid LEDs around. We will NEVER put lower quality dim LEDs in a hoop. You pay to get the best supplies used in your hoop.
Mad SCIentist is a perfectionist. :) Everything in the hoop is meticulously measured out. There is a TON of prep work that goes into ensuring that the hoop is balanced and the internal parts are spaced perfectly.
Every hoop comes with a wall charger for free that is covered under warranty. It just plugs straight into the hoop and into the wall and there is a light to let you know it’s charging status. The hoop does take a while to fully charge. We will be offering rapid chargers and car chargers at a later date.
We use small switches that are set in the hoop. Some other companies have small switches that are raised and stick out a little which sometimes results in the hooper hitting it and turning it off while hooping. This is impossible to do with our switches.
All of our hoops come with a 6 month warranty. If you are well over you warranty we offer repairs for small fees.
Our warranty covers all internal parts. It does not cover water damage, heat damage, or breaking the tubing. Please read about how to care for your LED hoop here.
